What Does “Proof of Brand” Mean?
Proof of Brand (PoB) can be loosely translated as “proof of brand ownership,” and within the ReBlockTM® project, it represents a unique and verifiable confirmation of brand ownership on the blockchain.
It is both a philosophy and a technological solution that establishes clear, indisputable ownership of a brand via a record on a decentralized network.
PoB is the blockchain equivalent of a certificate of registration—just as you would receive a paper certificate from a government office for a traditional trademark, blockchain registration provides you with a digital certificate stored on the blockchain.
This certificate takes the form of an NFT (non-fungible token), containing information about the brand and a reference to the specific transaction (block) on the chain.
How Does PoB Work in Practice?
When a brand is registered on the blockchain, a unique NFT token is created to represent that brand—think of it as the digital fingerprint of your trademark.
This token is stored in your crypto wallet. The essence of Proof of Brand is that ownership of this token = ownership of the brand on the blockchain.
Anyone can publicly verify the authenticity and uniqueness of your token using a blockchain explorer.
By simply knowing the token ID or the public address of your wallet, one can instantly look up the registration record and confirm who registered the brand, and when.
PoB therefore serves as indisputable proof of brand ownership.
Trust and Public Verification
PoB eliminates the need to rely on third parties (such as national offices or legal representatives) when verifying trademark ownership.
The proof is stored decentrally and continuously verified by the network’s validators.
There’s no dependency on centralized registries—the blockchain itself becomes your ownership database.
If anyone challenges your claim to a digital brand, you simply provide a link to the corresponding blockchain record—which speaks for itself.
Moreover, because blockchain data is public, you can allow your customers and partners to independently verify that you own the PoB token tied to the brand.
